The Purpose of IWSG is to share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

If you’re looking for insecure, You’ve come to the right place. At present, I’m polishing the last half dozen chapters of my manuscript, to be completed and out to beta readers by the the start of the Writer Unboxed [UN]Conference on November 7.
Yes, that would be next Monday.
In other words, I don’t have time to post this week. Since many of you are participating in NaNo, you’re in a similar position and will no doubt understand why I’m going to respond to November’s question then dash back to my red pen.
Ready, set, go!
What is your favorite aspect of being a writer?
jammies and not comb my hair is cool, too.)

I will be visiting other blogs this week, but I may be even slower than usual. Yeah, I know, hard to believe. Please be patient with me!
Good luck with your polishing. I like those reasons for being a writer, can’t beat the dress code. 🙂

Thanks, Mason. I actually enjoy dressing up for special occasions, but for work? PJs are the best dress code ever!
haha nothing wrong with that reasoning one bit.
When writing starts to feel like work, I just stare down at my fuzzy slippers, Pat. 😉
Ah the wisdom of Neil Gaiman. Now I just need to work on that whole “day job” thing and then I could drift over to the keyboard around 9-ish instead of after being up all morning 😀 Not to mention the whole jammies to work thing.
Best of luck to you in your editing. I understand the stress. I was down to the wire with my editing for an anthology submission and finished it the day before it was due. Whew! You can do this!!
Cheers,
Jen
Thanks, Jen. I’m editing 14 hours a day, so I’m getting close to the end. Yay!
My favorite part of being a writer is that no experience of mine from terrible to blissful and all those in between is ever wasted, for it goes into making me a more perceptive writer. 🙂
Absolutely, Roland. Writing is a great reminder not to be defined by our past. As some wise person once said, our pasts are a lesson, not a life sentence. Writing allows us to explore and learn from both good and bad experiences.
Whao! Monday. Best of luck meeting your deadline.
Thanks, Holly. I’m pretty sure I’ll make it. I’m getting very close.
It’ll be fun to get that MS in the hands of beta readers though too:) Keep up the good work (in slippers) 🙂
And I look forward to turning my attention to new project, Mark. I only hope my beta readers haven’t all died of old age waiting for me to finish my WIP.
Hey! What are you doing here… reading THIS? You’re supposed to be polishing, lady, so go polish!!! (Good luck!)
The dress code for writing is definitely a plus. 🙂
I’m almost there, Susan. Cross your fingers and toes for me. 🙂
Jammies are the best work uniform ever 🙂
They are, Carol. Some days I probably wouldn’t even bother to get dressed except I like to have my blinds open. 🙂
Good luck with the editing. The blogs will be here when you have time. Get those edits done!
Thanks, Liz. I’m off to do exactly that!
“…not having to get up in the morning.” Now that’s the best answer to this question I’ve read!
Good luck with the polishing!
There’s something freeing about not having a schedule, Michelle, but boy is it easy to procrastinate!
Ah, the wisdom of Neil Gaiman! Wishing you well with your WIP, V.R.
Thanks, Denise!
